Things I have been doing

''Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one! It got on at 42nd and off at 59th, where, I assume, it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake, as almost all hats are.'' - Kathleen Kelly, You've Got Mail.

This week I have been doing a lot of things! All simple little things, but I guess that's what life is.

I would probably spill the coffee... :)
Reading a lot this week! I have to read a lot of Dutch books for my exams, and it's not really going that smoothly, because it's quite hard to find a good book that is also on the literature list. Sadly enough I cannot just choose one I like.
And also poems. I have to read poems. Now I am not really that much of a poetic person, I once wrote a piece about rain that rhymed, it was long, and there was hot chocolate in the end, but that's all I ever did concerning poems.
Not that I am complaining! No, I like it. It's good doing things I never did before, and fun. There's a lot of enjoyable information out there in the Land of Literature.

Watching Gilmore Girls. All the time. I had to stick with this picture because I kept seeing facts about the show that I didn't want to know yet. I really like the wondering what's going to happen next, and the surprise when something new happens, so I quickly choose the first picture I saw of Rory and Lorelai together.
I really love Gilmore Girls, it's fun, it's witty, it's great.
Let me introduce to you the characters if you haven't watched it yet. :D
Lorelai is the one in the black dress, Rory the one in the blue sweater (give me her sweater, please) and grey skirt (also give me the grey skirt), the one in the lavender-ish blouse is Lorelai's mom, and the one with the red bowtie is Lorelai's dad.

Recieving a letter from a friend. I love letters. Opening the envelope with the beautiful/exotic/weird/ugly stamp on it, and then unfolding the paper and finding the beginning, because sometimes the are folded upside down, and then reading and also feeling the letters, and there is the cracking of paper when you turn...
Letters are fun. Three cheers for snail mail!

Traveling by train. The last time doing that, I was a little girl. The only thing I remember is the view: green, flat meadows and cows. Long time ago, indeed. :)
This time I remember everything. My sister and I went to visit my grandparents, and we went by train. I was the one not knowing anything about trains, my sister had quite some experience, so she lead the way and showed me how you do things when you travel by train.
It was an amazing one-hour ride. The view was wintery, cold mist covered the horizon in a white blanket. The more we traveled east, the more patches of left-over snow we saw, and frozen dykes, and people skating which made me jealous because of the fact there was hardly any ice around our home. Twice we could spot deer behind the trees.
The seats where very comfortable, I guessed one could even sleep in a seat like that. My sister and I chatted our way through the one hour and time flew by.
On the way back the mist had cleared and there where more people, and I was kind of tired, but it was still a lot of fun.
That was one great day of new experience!

Apart from the occasional visits to the library and all the other daily things, this week was quite busy, and exciting!
Now it's Friday and I am impatiently awaiting tonight, when weekend officially begins. It's only until I am terribly busy (studying and studying because I want to know everything by the time I have to do exams this year) I get to really appreciate the weekends. So therefore ... ''Oh, glorious weekend, here I come!'' (this is not a quote. I hope.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
